A Girl and Her Balloon
Abby loves streaking around naked after her bath! She also loves balloons! The two together made quite the sight!

Abby's Valentine's Day Gift

Will bought Abby an outfit for Valentine's Day! He's going to exchange it for a larger size (so it still fits when MN thaws), but we thought the message was a good one for the day!

February 2 - February 7 Washington DC Trip
Will, Abby and I had a great visit to DC! We stayed with our friends Asma and Dagfinn and their children Aliya and Alexander! We came close to getting through our very long list of friends we wanted to see, spent a fair amount of time at museums, had a fantastic meal at Elevation Burger, and managed to avoid gettting another $225 parking ticket (like the one we got when we last visited DC in October).

Abby and Snoopy

George Schulz, the creator of Snoopy, was born in Minneapolis. Thus, this tribute to him in the Minneapolis airport.

Who's Flying This Plane?
Abby loves to fly! Every time we are in the Minneapolis airport, we have to stop in this play area and Abby flies the plane, drives the luggage cart, and on her way out -- rides the carousel!

Lorraine, Abby and Will
We had a great lunch with our friend Lorraine -- a former colleauge of Will's at the Office of Refugee Resettlement. Thanks to Lorraine, as a baby Abby could have easily qualified in a "Best Dressed Baby" contest!

Abby, Rob, Marlena, and Ernie

Abby has always loved Rob and Marlena's French bull dog Ernie. When she was just a baby and first met Ernie, he gave her a big sloppy kiss. When we visited this time, Abby laughed and laughed and laughed as she chased Ernie around!

Asma, Will and Abby
We so enjoyed staying with our friends Asma and Dagfinn and their children Aliya and Alexander. It was fun to see Abby interacting so maturely with five-year old Aliya one minute and then turning to play with eighteen-month old Alexander the next.

Abby Logs Even More Time in the Car in DC

Abby's spent far too much of her young life in a car on the streets of DC, but she remained a good sport for our visit!

Abby and Ingrid

Abby and I spent a lovely afternoon with Ingrid. And of course, Abby wanted Ingrid to read her books!

Tummy Time!

Langston's baby brother Colin Green is now six months old and a great baby! Will and I offered to babysit the brothers one evening to give Amy and Irving a night out on the town! We really had to twist their arms to get them to go out -- I think it took Amy a full split second to say, "OK!!"
We had a great time!

Daddy and Abby Ride the Carousel on the Mall

Will has long wanted to take Abby on the carousel on the National Mall and he finally had that opportunity! They both enjoyed it very much!

Huge Giant Elephant
A must-see for Abby is the "huge giant elephant" in the rotunda at the Smithsonian's Musuem of Natural History. Each time we go to the museum we let Abby pick out one thing in the gift shop and each time she picks out an elephant!

Are You Scared of Bats Mommy?

Abby knows I'm scared of bats, so whenever we go to the Natural History Musuem (or read a book about bats) she puts her arms around me to protect me!

Daniel in the Lion's Den

Abby's current favorite "Bible book" story is Daniel in the Lion's Den. We read it most days and she actually can recite it word for word! I'd once told her about this Rubens painting at the National Gallery of Art. So, when we visited, she requested that we go see it.
