Writing Postcards

Lisa and Abby flew out to DC together on Monday (I arrived on Sunday). They spent the week together seeing the sights as I was working. Here they write postcards.

One of Three Nightgowns

Abby owns three nightgowns and insisted on taking all three to DC. Here she sleeps in her "cow nightgown." She is snugging with her mommy and baby giraffe -- one of her current favorites.

Hotel Life

Abby loves hotel living. She had so much fun playing with her toys and at the end of the day, would often say, "Are we going back to my hotel now?"

Snow!

It's snowing in Minnesota today! Abby and I went out to shovel, but we are still working to perfect our technique! To be quite honest, I have no idea what I'm doing! But, Abby is pretty good at it.

In the background of this picture is our two-car garage. We had absolutely no interest in the garage when we bought the house, and didn't understand why Minnesotans are so fond of their garages and why the realtor seemed to think the garage was one of the main reasons for buying a house. But now we get it! And because our garage is on the alley, I don't have to shovel our driveway out front!!!!!!

Peace!

Abby's classmate Fiona often says "Peace!" Abby worked at getting the fingers right and finally figured it out last week. She's now so good at it that she can do the peace sign with both hands. I just haven't perfected getting the best picture of it yet, so this will have to do!

Cat Fishing

Mira was playing with a ribbon tonight and Will showed Abby how to "catfish." Abby had great fun, but unfortunately our photographic skills failed us in getting a picture with the two of them. Mira also decided she was camera shy and played from under the bed!

Abby's Favorite Things

Abby LOVES her books that have CDs with them (a Christmas gift from her great Aunt Kay) and she LOVES her Noah's ark (a Christmas gift from her Aunt Lori and Uncle Pete and cousins Ashley and Jacob)!!! The pony tail isn't a favorite thing -- but I'm working on it. We're trying to grow her hair out, but it is a slow process!

It Looks Just Like a Rhinoceros

Today Abby went poop in her potty chair. She stood up and looked at it and said with wonder in her voice, "It looks just like a rhinoceros!" I had to know, so I looked at it too. I must say, it actually did look like a rhinoceros. My child is BRILLIANT!

Fussy Granddad

A few days ago, Abby's Granddad called and complained that the blog had not been updated in some time. I later told Abby about the phone call, saying, "Abby, Granddad fussed at me for not updating your blog. I told him I'd update it soon."

Abby replied in a very serious voice, "If you update my blog Mommy, will Granddad stop fussing?"

Well, now that the blog is updated -- INCLUDING NEW DC PICTURES, SO BE SURE TO CLICK ON THE FEBRUARY ARCHIVE AND SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN -- will Granddad stop fussing?
