Bride and Broom
Yesterday Abby attended her first wedding. She was very interested in the exchange of the rings and the wedding cake. She talked non-stop about the "bride and the broom!"

What does a three year old do when on a road trip and it is 100 plus degrees -- go swimming in the motel pool! Abby loves the water and is really good at kicking her legs and paddling her arms! Will and I are very proud!

Some time ago I promised Abby that she could ride a camel someday. I wasn't exactly certain where or when, but I figured we could make it happen!!
Well, we took a roadtrip to Des Moines, IA this weekend to attend a wedding and today went to the zoo in Des Moines. And lucky us -- camel rides for $4!!!!!
This is Abby crying and attempting to run away from Coco. We'd already paid $8 for the ride and I was determined to ride that camel (It was 100 degrees and I was hungry and thirsty and grumpy!)
Will suggested we go see some other animals and try again later. It wasn't very long before Abby announced she was ready to ride the camel!! We went back and she bravely rode the camel! It was very bouncy and a camel's hump is not exactly comfortable!!!

These are well-trained goats! As soon as we purchased 50 cents worth of food, the little gray goat came charging at us and was soon joined by the white goat!!!! Abby held the food in her flat hand and the greedy little goats ate everything we had!

We took a train ride at the zoo. This picture was taken in a very dark tunnel, but the flash lit up Abby's face! I love the look of surprise in her eyes! In the middle of the tunnel, the conductor asked us all to yell out our favorite animal we'd seen at the zoo. Will yelled serval and Abby and I both yelled camel!
Will and Abby enjoying their train ride!

Abby made this really cool hat at school. It has a frog, two turtles, three dragonflies and two butterflies on it. It even has glitter on it! She wore it all day!

Abby has long seemed older than her years, but drinking beer under the table on her third birthday seems a bit much!!

Abby turned three today!!! Her birthday festivities started with a donut (with candle) for breakfast, swimming in her birthday suit at the pool, presents in the afternoon, and a great evening picnic on the fogged in beach!
Abby still LOVES books. Here Granddad reads one of her new birthday books.
Abby and Aunt Stephani play at the beach.
Abby and Uncle Alex (Abby can't say her Ls, so it comes out A-yex) play harmonica together.
Daddy made Abby a delicious birthday cake!!
Abby's godfather Jason Jeung joined the festivities!
Alas, the party must end!

Abby loves being naked in the California sun!! She discovered the joy of nude sun bathing yesterday at the beach, and today she again asked to be naked at the Carmel River!
