Guns in the Park
This evening we went for a walk in the park -- or puddle hunting as we told Abby. We came upon two young boys (maybe ten years old or so) who were playing with cap guns (Will called them sucker guns). As we approached, the one boy said to the other, "Put those away, you don't want children to see them!" The boys promptly hid the guns in their shorts. We thanked them and walked on by. Abby's legs soon were "not working" any longer, so we turned around to go home. We again came upon the two boys. I thanked them again for being so thoughtful as to hide their guns from Abby. Both boys said, "You're welcome!" In passing we heard the boy who had told the other boy to put the guns away say, "Why did you say thank you? I'm the one that told you to put your guns away! You acted like it was your idea!"
